I have always wanted to shoot stills from a drone so when DJI released the Mavic 2 Pro I had to get one. Around the same time I decided to get a GoPro to record some of my mountain bike adventures. It only made sense to start up a YouTube channel where I could post some of these clips. This led to the start of Fat Desert.

I struggle being in front of the camera. I just have a hard time talking to an inanimate object. If there were someone behind the camera or in the room with me I think I could engage much better. I also routinely forget to bring my GoPro with me when I head out. In short I am not a very good Vlogger.

Currently I have three types of video’s, 30 Second Vacation, Behind of Scenes of the 30 Second Vacation and On the Road, which is a day in the life kind of theme. I will add some How To’s and Gear Reviews later on.

The 30 Second Vacation is a quick zen-like glimpse into some of the more interesting places I find myself. The Behind The Scene’s is just that, a look at how the various clips were shot along with some background about that particular location. Life On The Road is a general catch all category when I don’t have an off the wall location at hand but want to provide some ‘Day In The Life’ type content.
